FAN SUBMITTED TOUR REVIEWS & REMARKS
From: Airton Tonon
After 17 years, I had the chance to see this classic line-up again. I was on 3 of 4 gigs Sabbath played in Sao Paulo during the Dehumanizer Tour in 1992, and once more at The Cross Purposes Tour with Tony Martin & Bill Ward in 1994, so I was OK with the idea of having no songs from the MK I albuns.
There was not any oppening band and at 10:30 PM, in front of a crowded audience (not sure if it was a sold out night, maybe it was around 7000 people), the band entered the stage after the regular E5150 intro.
The stage was similar to what i saw in pictures of “The Metal Master Tour†in 2008. The lights effects were really nice, but there was not special screen for these gigs as we saw at the NY DVD.
During the gig, the band had a lot of technical problens with the PA sound or the mix, as noticed on Bible Black, when Dio’s voice just desapeared for 1 minute, and this and other kind of problems with the guitar sound happened during the next songs.
The set list: E5150 (tape Intro) / Mob Rules / Children of the Sea / I / Bible Black / Time Machine / Drum Solo / Fear / Falling Off the Edge of the World / Follow the Tears / Guitar Solo / Die Young / Heaven And Hell (long version with instrumental jam)
Encore:
Country Girl (only first verse) / Neon Knights
Yes, it is a short set list, but I do not consider it a short gig, as they played for near to 90 minutes. The news songs are heavier alive, and IMHO they could play more than 3 songs from TDYK .
Anyway, the show was just fantastic with Dio, Tony, Geezer and Vinny playing a perfect set full of all those classics we know very well, and I was ready to go home and get prepared for the next gig on May 16th, a better gig for sure, with less technical problens than May 15th and more enthusiastic crowd and band.
