subject FAN REVIEW June 16, 2007 - Fields of Rock Festival -
Biddinghuizen, Holland
Went to
see Heaven and Hell last Saturday at the Fields of Rock festival.
Awesome show, exceeded my expectations. Very heavy, very “doomy”. I knew
these guys were great together, as I saw them play live 15 years ago on
the Dehumanizer tour, but they amazed me with the intensity and passion
of the performance. Heaven and Hell as a whole is definitely greater
than the sum of the parts (individual players). The band played between
5 and 6 PM on the outdoor main stage, I think the audience were very
impressed and they got a good audience response. Steve Harris (Iron
Maiden bass player) was watching them from the side of the stage, and
Bruce Dickinson highlighted Heaven and Hell during an interlude between
songs in the Iron Maiden performance. He actually said “What a great
festival day, what a great show by my friends Iommi, Butler, Dio and
Appice. Why don’t they just call themselves Black Sabbath and get on
with it?”.
Looking
forward to having more shows announced. Can’t wait to see them again!
Maybe this fall, with full setlist indoor shows in Europe (why don’t you
bring Megadeth as support!). |
