First off, I must that this year i was not a true ozzfest trooper. I go to college about 80 miles outside of Albuquerque so i had to take care of my classes on the first day of school before i could attend and therefore i did not see the whole thing.

When i arrived, Velvet Revolver was just getting on. I had not heard them before at all so it was a new experience for me. I will keep my opinions of them to a minimum, so all i have to say is HEROIN ADDICT towards Weiland. He was so skinny and when he did his little limbo dance move i honestly thought he wouldnt have the strength to get back up.

On to the main course, BLACK SABBATH:

Unlike last year, I did not look at reviews and playlists before I saw them. It really ruined it for me. I was also worried about Ozzy's voice as of the rumors that were going around. I do know he had a sore throat on that night but he was fucking AWESOME. The year before, Tony Iommi's and Butler's guitars were so detuned that they had trouble staying in tune, but this year Ozzy's voice was tip top. I have seen Ozzy play for 4 years now in Abq and this year, Ozzy's singing, was by far the best. He and the rest of Black Sabbath were Gods among mere peasants that night. They were spot on on everything and their songs are truly timeless and kick the scrotums of evry modern band. They had the crowd in the palm of their hands. The crowd sang along and participated better than any of the previous years. Greatest band ever!

My seating was beyond excellent. I thought i had nose bleed seats again, but it was like 7 seats from the front so i was friggin estatic. I was also relieved to see that they, for the most part, played a different set list this year. It was a so freaking cool for them to play After Forever. Didnt expect it and it was a complete surprise. Tony was on my side of the stage so he was up close and personal. I would shout at him and point at him and during a long cord hold he shot me a thumbs up and i nearly fainted.

Some assholes in the front row decided to leave early to beat the rush out of the venue so i moved up with my girlfriend even closer until Ozzy said to go crazy and basically fuck the rules so we climbed into the little mosh pit for the privelidged folk. Then things got crazy. Tony started throwing pics out on the last two songs. I got 2 and my special lady got one after getting beaten up a bit by crazed fans.

All in all, i can die now with a bit shit eating grin on my face. A 19 year old kid, gets to see his favorite band, Black Sabbath, play twice in his young life. I honestly thought they would never get back together again, but they did twice!!! August 23rd, the greatest musical day of my life.

Thank you Tony, Ozzy, Geezer, and Bill. you fucking ROCK!!!

p.s. Mr. Siegler, Dehumanizer is the best Black Sabbath album ever.
