hi joe thanks for your incredible site!
any way heres my review
i arrived around 4:30pm just in time to see black lable society, they
sounded great, great songs and a good mix. next shadow fall, boring and
lousy mix. next mudvayne, good show good tunes and a good mix. iron maiden
was a joke, they obviously had their fans there as evidenced by all the
"run for your life shirts", but the set came off a phoney and cheap,
reminiscent of 80's hair bands, their mix was horrible all you could hear
was the bass.
next was sabbath, they have never sounded better, and i can say this
having seen them probably atleast 10 times since the black and blue tour
of 1980. ozzy looked and sounded great for most of the show. he also was
doing alot of his famous frog jump, and hurling water to the audience. his
voice started to give him a little trouble durning paranoid, otherwise he
was excellent, and really seemed to be enjoying him self. tony and geezer
were as always excellent. tonys solo on dirty women was incredible. bill
ward was also great, he played with alot of energy, more so than last
years ozz fest. after forever was brilliant, such a great live song. war
pigs was great. dirty women was again great, it gives tony the oportunity
to let loose. fairies wear boots was great. the medly of symptom of the
universe/sweet leaf was incredibly heavy, i only wish they would have
played the songs in their entirety. electric funeral was very heavy. iron
man really got the audience of 30,000 going crazy. last nights version of
"black sabbath" was the best i've seen or heard. they closed with my least
favorite song of theirs, paranoid, encore was a crushing rendition of
children of the grave. the crowd last night was definately their to see
sabbath, they were on their feet for the full 70 minute set. its very cool
to see a important band like sabbath getting the recognition and
appreciation they deserve, all the while blowing every other act off the
stage.
