Think the band sounded great on this song with Dave Walker…..In all fairness no one sounds like Ozzy or for that matter especially Ronnie James Dio….with that being said Dave Walker did an admirable job and this song with him on it sounds really cool

    • I agree. The lyrics are hard to make out, but compared to the final version the Dave Walker version is a completely different song. From what little I’ve made out of the lyrics and the general feel of his singing, its a lot darker song. No, no devils or demons, but what sounds like a murderer. Ozzy’s final version (which I do love) was a tribute to his father and Ozzy’s relationship with him. Ir wasn’t so much dark as it was sad (speaking about the feel of the song, not the quality). But, all said I believe a Sabbath album with Dave Walker would not have been a bad thing at all.

Nice jam, very off from the final version of course, however, very soulful and deep. I like the vocal very much. I think that, if Sabbath had continued with Dave Walker it would have put them in a category with Bad Company and Foreigner and Sabbath would have missed their ride on the NWOBHM.

They recorded some of Never Say Die album with Dave & Ozzy insisted it was all scrapped? That’s what I’ve read. So would like to hear Dave’s time in Sabbath if it’s on a shelf somewhere
