If you’ve never visited the site Padavona.com, then you’ve done yourself a disservice. It was a site very well put together by Jeremy Whitted. It used to be called “Dio – The Early Years” in the past. It covered an era of Ronnie’s career that a lot of people didn’t even know existed, the pre-Elf years in the 50’s and 60’s. This site was what I considered the definitive source of Dio info from that era of Ronnie’s career. However, there’s been a major change there. Here’s the deal….
In short, Jeremy had posted earlier today that he wanted to get out of running the website and the Facebook page he was doing for this. He’d been doing it for about 20 years, and as a long timer myself (25 next month), I get burnout and wanting to do different things.
However, I didn’t want the site to die and disappear, so I offered to host padavona.com myself, and we came to an agreement. So effective immediately, I’m now the new owner of padavona.com (both the domain & website), and the Facebook page.
However, as I said in the post on FB, I do not intend on changing anything. Jeremy has done an amazing job building that up, and I’d be a fool to change anything. I just don’t want the content to disappear.
As of the writing of this post on the 12th of June, the content hasn’t moved to my server yet, we need to work out a few fiddly tech things in regard to the move, but I wanted to mark the change here and let people know it won’t be going away.
#RIPDio #RIPRonnie
Here’s Jeremy’s goodbye message from the FB group earlier today.
