Hi Joe, Black Sabbaths support act for New Zealand and Austrailia is New Zealand band Shihad (not Shidah) I saw Sabbath in Auckland NZ at their 1st gig and was blown away, Tony and Gezzer were particually outstanding and Ozzy was way much better than when I saw him in Wellington a few years ago. I went with high expectations and they were bloody fantastic!!
Flew from Hong Kong to Perth and went the gig. Was pretty decent support act called Shihad, reading the newspaper at the time of their inception the band thought they were saying Jihad, as they heard it on tv. the name stuck as they pronounced it Shihad.
Sabbath show was pretty solid, and enjouyable very good fun. Ive seen the various line-ups all ove rthe place and ozzy at times as been woefull. This night he was on form and was very entertaining. As always geezer and tony were rock solid, never hit a bum note and the caveman clufetos on the drums as more than capable.
I managed to meet tony after the show but unfortunately i got star struck and became a mumbling mess, all said a great event. 40+ hours round trip hong kong to perth the gig and back. With a stop off at the bon scott statue in freemantle and a night visit to freemantle jail.
